About Us

For 40 years we have operated as a volunteer group of walking guides providing tours in central Christchurch.
Our objectives are to provide our small groups of walkers (both visitors and locals) with an interesting and informative tour about the history and establishment of the city, its growth and development, recent major events and the emergence of the new city.
We do not offer “free” walking tours, but consider that our walks provide excellent value.
Our guides do not expect a gratuity and our pleasure is ensuring that walkers have a great experience. A great Trip Advisor review will show our guides (and other walkers) that you have had a great experience.

Arts Donation

A portion of your walking tour fee is donated to the ongoing restoration of The Arts Centre which is the largest collection of Heritage 1 buildings in New Zealand. In addition, Walk Christchurch donates $15000 annually to support The Arts Centre Trust.
